Firmware installation
Current Firmware Version: v4.5.5 - Includes enhanced microstepping (1/8 to 1/256) and improved safety features.
Step 1: Download firmware and libraries
Download the zip file, which contains firmware and libraries for programming the controller of the syringe pumps.
Step 2: Set up Arduino IDE
In Arduino IDE, you must add ESP32 Dev board. Go to Tools > Boards > Boards Manager and search for "ESP32" and install the ESP32 board package by Espressif Systems.
Step 3: Program the ESP32
- Connect the ESP32 to your computer.
- Go to Arduino IDE and select your COM port in Tools > Port.
- Go to Tools > Board and select the ESP32 Dev model.
- Extract the zip file to load the firmware and install the libraries.
- Go to File > Open and load
syringe_pump_v4.5.5.inofile located in thefirmware/controller-esp32/syringe_pump_v4.5.5/directory. - Install the required libraries. The zip file includes three libraries that should be installed via Sketch > Include Library > Add .ZIP Library:

Note: Preferences is built-in with the ESP32 core and does not require installation.
- Click on Verify to compile the firmware and confirm the configuration is correct.
- When compilation succeeds, click Upload to transfer the firmware to the board.
